JennAir JGCP436WP 36-inch Pro-Style Gas Rangetop Service

The JGCP436WP is an older Pro-Style gas rangetop, 36 inches wide, with sealed burners and continuous grates. It has no downdraft of its own, so it is installed under a separate range hood over a cabinet run, with a wall oven placed elsewhere.
Sealed-burner rangetops age through their igniters and the small ports under each cap. A flame that leans toward its neighbor, or a burner that will not stay lit at a low setting, usually traces back to a cap sitting off center or to hardened spillover. We start there, then test the igniters and the valves behind the knobs. If you ever notice a gas smell, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. Prices are written before work, and the repair has a 30-day warranty.
It is worth checking. Caps that sit crooked or ports that are partly blocked can bend the flames. We reseat and clean them, and test the burner if the lean continues.
It means the repair covers only the burners, igniters and valves; the ventilation belongs to your hood. If the hood is weak, we can tell you what we observe, but we service the rangetop itself.
We clean the port, check the cap fit and test the valve's low setting. A worn valve or a clogged port are the usual causes, and we show you which one we found.
