JennAir JXW8836WS Curved Hood Service

A curved front sets the JXW8836WS apart: it is a 36-inch Euro-Style wall-mount canopy whose rounded profile stands out above a range. The shape is decorative, but the blower, filters and damper work just as they do in a flat hood.
When we service it, we check the filters, wheel and motor, then test the switches and lamps. The curved housing can trap grease along the lower edge, so we look there as well. If airflow seems poor, the damper and duct get a close inspection. Because the front is curved, grease also tends to settle in the lower lip, and we clean it there so it does not drip onto the cooktop later.
A written price is given before any work, and the repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
They slide out much like other hood filters, but the curved front can limit finger room. If a filter sticks, do not force it. Call us and we will free it. That keeps the finish from being scratched in the process.
It is not urgent, but flicker can come from a loose socket. Fix it before it burns the socket, which then means a larger repair. A loose socket can heat up over time, so it is worth having it checked.
Use mild soap and warm water on a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals, which dull the finish. A cleaner that is too strong can leave dull patches that are hard to remove.
