What F03 means

F03 on JennAir electric radiant and touch-control cooktops signals an internal communication error on the touch control module. The parts of the control that talk to each other stopped exchanging messages correctly. You may see F03 on the display and find the cooktop ignoring the keys, shutting elements off or refusing to start. Cookware and the glass surface play no part in this code.

Common causes of F03

  • A momentary glitch in the touch control module
  • A loose or damaged connection inside the control
  • A touch control module that is failing
  • Power supply to the cooktop that is unstable
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn all controls off. 2. Switch the cooktop's circuit breaker off for one minute, then back on. 3. Wipe the panel dry and clean. 4. Try a single element on a low setting. 5. If F03 comes back, leave the cooktop off and call us. Do not open any panel.

! Why to stop there
  • The code names the internal control, which sits under the glass beside live power connections.
  • Resetting the breaker repeatedly can hide a failing module until it stops completely.
  • Control modules are matched to the cooktop, so ordering one by guess often means a second visit.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F03F03 questions
Is F03 caused by my pan?

No. This is an internal communication message on the touch control module, not a cookware warning. A pan swap or a wipe-down of the glass will not clear it, because the trouble is inside the control itself.

Can a breaker reset clear F03?

Sometimes a short power-off lets the control restart cleanly and the message disappears. If F03 returns afterward, the control module has to be inspected by a technician, since a repeat means the cause is still there.

What happens at your visit?

We test the touch control module and its connections, explain what we find and give you a written price before any work. Repairs carry our 30-day workmanship warranty.
