On JennAir induction cooktops such as the JIC4536KS or JIC4536XS, an H on the display means the cooking zone is hot. The indicator lights even if the zone was never switched on, for example when heat has spread from the neighboring zone or when a hot pot was placed on it. When the zone cools, the H goes out. It is a safety indication and not an error.
1. Do not touch the glass; leave it to cool. 2. Keep towels, plastic and pot holders off the zone. 3. Wait until the H disappears on its own. 4. If H stays on for a very long time after the cooktop has cooled, or shows with no heat source, switch the breaker off for a minute and call us.
No. It simply means the cooking zone is hot. It is there to protect you from touching hot glass, and it goes out by itself.
Wait for the surface to cool and the H goes out by itself. It needs no button press or reset, and it is safe to ignore as long as you keep hands off the glass.
If H stays lit after the cooktop has fully cooled for a long time, the sensing may need a check. We quote in writing and warrant our work for 30 days.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
