On JennAir electric radiant and touch-control cooktops, Lock means Control Lock is active. It prevents unintended use of the cooking areas. If Control Lock is activated while the cooktop power is off, the cooktop is locked out and the elements cannot be turned on from the touch controls. If it is activated while power is on, all keypads are locked except Power and Off.
1. Find the Control Lock key on the touch panel. 2. Touch and hold it as your cooktop directions show until the Lock message disappears. 3. Try an element. 4. If Lock will not turn off, wipe and dry the panel, switch the breaker off for a minute and back on, and try once more. If it stays locked, call us.
No. It is a safety feature that prevents unintended use of the cooking areas. Unlocking it restores normal use of the cooktop right away, with nothing to repair.
If Lock is active with the power off, the cooking areas cannot be turned on from the touch controls. Unlock the cooktop first, then try again.
Clean and dry the panel and cycle the breaker. If the cooktop still will not unlock, call us. We quote the repair in writing first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
