On JennAir combination wall ovens with a microwave, F4 E4 reports a possible problem with the microwave humidity sensor, the microwave appliance manager, or the wiring. The humidity sensor helps the sensor-cooking functions judge doneness. You will see F4 E4 on the screen, and sensor-based microwave cooking may not work. Automatic sensor programs, such as reheat or popcorn, will not work while the code shows. Timed cooking may still run.
1. Press Cancel and wipe the microwave cavity dry. 2. Open the door and let the cavity air out for a few minutes. 3. Shut off the circuit breaker for a minute, then reconnect power and see if the humidity sensor check passes. 4. Try a basic timed microwave run with water. 5. If the display shows F4 E4 once more, phone us and we will test the humidity sensor.
It may, since the code concerns the humidity sensing. We recommend a check to be sure the manager board is fine. Moisture in the cavity can make the reading look wrong, so dry the cavity before testing it.
Moisture can disturb the sensor, so a dry cavity is worth trying. A code that stays after drying points to a failed sensor or wiring.
