F64 appears on JennAir electric radiant and touch-control cooktops when the control suspects the User Interface (Touch Control), the Power Control Module, the wiring that links them, or the power feeding the cooktop. You may find that the glass keys react slowly or not at all and that elements switch off during use. The code does not point to a single part, so it is narrowed down in the field.
1. Wait for the glass to cool, with all controls off. 2. Wipe the panel dry. 3. Take a minute with the breaker off, then switch it back to on. 4. Turn one element to low and watch. 5. If F64 shows again, stop and call us. Do not remove screws or lift the cooktop.
It could be either. The description includes the electrical supply as well as the touch control and the module, so we check all of them.
If the cause was a brief supply dip, the reset may clear it for a while. If F64 comes back, a part or a connection has failed.
We advise against it until it is checked, since heat control is involved. We quote the repair in writing and give a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
