Across JennAir combination wall ovens, F1 E6 means a possible problem with the microwave thermistor or sensor, or its wiring. The older JMW2430D generation uses the same code for a microwave generation error, involving the door switches, the microwave relay, the inverter and the magnetron. Either way, the microwave side stops working and the display shows F1 E6. Dinner reheated in the microwave comes out cold while the code is up.
1. Press Cancel and open and close the microwave door firmly. 2. Check the door edge for debris. 3. Cut power at the breaker for about a minute to let the microwave sensor reading reset, then restore it. 4. Try a brief cup-of-water test. 5. Should the oven display F1 E6 again, we are one call away from checking the microwave sensor.
The model generation decides. On current combination ovens it points to a microwave thermistor or sensor. On the JMW2430D series it is a generation error. Tell us your model and we match it.
On the older platform, door switches are part of the generation check, so a door that does not register can set the code. We test the switches along with the other parts.
We identify the platform, test the listed parts and quote in writing before starting. Our repairs include a 30-day workmanship warranty. Our written quote names the part being replaced before work starts.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
