What F6 E7 means

On JennAir combination wall ovens with a built-in microwave, F6 E7 means there may be a problem with the microwave appliance manager or the wiring. The manager board runs the microwave side and talks to the main control. You will see F6 E7 on the display, and the microwave may not respond even though the oven side seems normal. The oven side may continue to bake normally.

Common causes of F6 E7

  • Microwave appliance manager board failing
  • Wiring between the manager and the main control
  • Loose connector on the manager board
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Press Cancel and wait a few seconds. 2. Reset power by turning the breaker off and on after a one-minute wait, giving the manager board a second try. 3. Restore power and test the microwave with a cup of water for twenty seconds. 4. Never run it empty. 5. Should the oven display F6 E7 again, we are one call away from checking the manager board.

! Why to stop there
  • The manager board is inside the microwave section where high voltage lives.
  • Wiring and the board need to be tested in order.
  • A new board can cost more than the oven's other likely repairs, so a test comes first.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F6 E7F6 E7 questions
Is F6 E7 the same as F1 E3?

Both point to the microwave appliance manager. Different numbers tell the technician which check failed, but we test the board and its wiring either way.

Does the conventional oven keep working?

Often, yes. The code concerns the microwave manager. We still recommend a check because the two sides are connected. Different codes can share one cause, and the manager board is the common link.

Do you replace manager boards?

Yes, after a test and a written price. Our work includes a 30-day workmanship warranty. Written price first, with parts and labor listed, then the repair and warranty.
