JennAir Wall Oven Code FC E1: Wi-Fi could not connect to the router

What FC E1 means

On JennAir connected built-in wall ovens such as the JJW2830DS and JJW9830DDP, FC E1 means the oven could not connect to the router. The cause may be a connection timeout, weak signal, a router problem, the Wi-Fi module in the oven, or the wiring. The oven shows FC E1, but baking and broiling normally still work. Remote start and phone alerts will not work while the code shows.

1. Check that your router is on and other devices connect. 2. Move closer or add a signal booster if the signal is weak. 3. Power the oven down at the panel for sixty seconds, because that reboots the Wi-Fi connection test. 4. Switch it back on and watch the display for a minute. 5. A repeat of FC E1 means the Wi-Fi connection needs a visit from us.

Can I still cook with FC E1?

Yes in most cases. The code concerns the oven's Wi-Fi connection, not its heating. You may lose remote features until the connection returns. Everything else, including bake, broil and the timer, stays available throughout.

Should I reset my router?

That is a good first step. Restarting the router and the oven breaker together often restores the link. It is also worth restarting the router and giving the oven a minute to rejoin afterward.

When does FC E1 need a technician?

If the router and signal are fine and the code stays after a breaker reset, the Wi-Fi module or wiring needs testing. We quote in writing first.
