JennAir JEC4430H and Its Lustre Glass-Touch Controls

The JEC4430H is a 30-inch Lustre stainless radiant cooktop with glass-touch controls, and it is also sold as the JEC4430HB and JEC4430HS. The stainless edge sets it apart in the counter, and the touch controls remove the knobs that older cooktops needed.
Without knobs, there is nothing to feel when a control starts failing. Instead you notice a pad that responds late, a setting that jumps, or a lock that will not release. Spills and wet cloths are the most common cause, though a worn control board can do it as well. Under the glass, the elements wear in the usual ways.
We check the controls with a dry surface first, then the board and the elements. Prices are written before work, and the repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
The control may be reading your touch while the element or its relay fails to get power. We test the relay output and the element separately, then quote the part that fails.
They are finish versions of the same cooktop, so boards are often shared. We confirm the numbers on the rating plate and on the board before quoting.
If the problem is a single element, the other elements often remain safe to use. If the glass is cracked or the controls behave erratically, switch it off until we repair it.
