JennAir JGCP648H RISE 48-inch Grill Rangetop Repair

The JGCP648H is a RISE 48-inch gas rangetop with six burners and a grill. The JGCP648HL and JGCP648HM plates belong to the same unit, and it commonly sits in a long counter with a wall oven or double ovens placed nearby.
With six burners and a grill sharing a surface, a lighting complaint can come from one igniter or from the spark module serving several. We find out which by trying each burner and the grill in turn. After that we clean the ports, check cap fit and test the valve at its lowest setting. If you ever smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. We quote in writing before work and cover it with a 30-day warranty.
Part of the grill burner is probably clogged with grease, so gas reaches only some ports. We clean the burner, check the flame pattern and test the valve if it does not improve.
Wipe spills soon after cooking, and keep the caps seated. Dried boil-overs are the usual reason ports clog, and we point out any buildup during a service visit.
Rarely. Most work happens from above or from the cabinet below. We tell you in advance if a rare case needs the rangetop lifted out.
