The JVR0430HS is a 30-inch Lustre wall mount canopy hood rated at 550 CFM, set up for recirculating use. With no duct to the outdoors, the air passes through filters and returns to the kitchen, which makes filter condition the first thing that matters.
A recirculating hood cannot clear smoke if the filters have reached the end of their life, so cooking smells linger and the fan seems to work harder for nothing. Beyond that, blower motors and switches wear in the usual way. If you cook often with oil, plan on replacing the filters more often than the label suggests, because smell is the first thing to return.
