JennAir CCE3401 and CCE3451 Electric Downdraft Service

The CCE3401 and the closely related CCE3451 are 30-inch electric downdraft cooktops, installed in a counter cutout on an island or a wall run where no overhead hood is wanted. Depending on the build, the surface is ceramic glass or coil elements, but the vent between the cooking areas works the same way.
Most calls fall into three groups. The blower slows down or stops, an element goes cold or heats in patches, or the glass picks up a crack. Knobs and switches also loosen after years of turning. On a glass top, a hairline crack means the whole surface section needs attention, so we ask you to stop using it until we look.
We separate the vent from the cooking side so we know what we are fixing, and then test power to the elements. Our prices are written before work starts, and each repair is covered by our 30-day workmanship warranty.
Look at the cooking area: a smooth flat top is glass, and exposed spiral coils are coil elements. Either way, tell us before the visit and give us the model number from the rating plate.
A running motor with no pull points to a blocked filter or duct, or a damper that is not opening. We check these before testing the motor, then give you a written price for any part.
No. Cracks can spread and let liquid under the surface, which reaches electrical parts. Stop using the cooktop and call us, and we will quote the surface or section replacement in writing.
