What F43 means

On JennAir electric radiant and touch-control cooktops, F43 tells you there may be a problem with the Cooktop Power Control Board or the wiring that goes with it. That board decides how much power each surface element receives. When it reports trouble, the cooktop can refuse to heat, shut elements off, or show F43 while the touch controls look otherwise normal.

Common causes of F43

  • Cooktop power control board failing
  • Wiring or connector to the power control board loose or damaged
  • Power control board needing replacement
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn every control off and let the glass cool. 2. Try a one-minute power reset at the breaker. 3. Wipe the glass and touch panel dry. 4. Try one element on low. If F43 returns, stop using the cooktop and call us. Never lift the glass or reach under the cooktop.

! Why to stop there
  • The board and wires sit beneath the glass with full line voltage.
  • A cooktop that shows F43 can still be live inside after you switch the controls off.
  • Replacing a board without a wiring check can ruin the new board too.
  • We test, tell you the cause and quote in writing first.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F43F43 questions
Can I keep cooking while F43 shows?

We would not. The board that supplies the elements is under suspicion, and elements can behave unpredictably. Stop using the cooktop until we check it.

Is F43 the same as F63?

No. F43 points to the power control board and its wiring. F63 involves the touch control, power control module and the electrical supply. We read yours and test the right part.

Is a board replacement always needed?

Not always. A loose wire can cause the same message. We check the wiring first, then give you a price in writing and a 30-day workmanship warranty.
