E_9 appears on JennAir induction cooktops, such as the JIC4536XS, when the control panel switches off because of excessively high temperatures. The internal temperature of the electronic parts is too high, and the instruction is simple: wait for the cooktop to cool down before using it again. Until then, the zones will not come back on. The cooktop stays unavailable while it cools.
1. Switch off all zones and move the pans aside. 2. Wait for the cooktop to cool completely. 3. Check that nothing is stored against the underside or vents. 4. Cook again at a lower level. 5. If E_9 returns on a cold cooktop, call us.
An overheating message. The control panel switched off because the electronics inside the cooktop got too hot to keep running safely. Wait before cooking again.
Remove pans and keep the area around the cooktop clear so air can move. Do not pour water on the glass, which can crack it.
Call us when E_9 appears on a cool cooktop or repeats after cooling. We check the sensors and control and give a written price first. The code clears afterward.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
