On JennAir electric radiant and touch-control cooktops, an indicator or hot light that stays on means a cooktop control is still on or an element is still too hot to touch safely. Make sure every control is off and give the cooktop time to cool. The light is a safety signal, and it normally goes out by itself once the surface cools.
1. Check every control and turn each one off. 2. Keep hands, cloths and plastic away from the surface. 3. Let the cooktop cool; the hot light goes out once it is safe. 4. If the light is still on long after it has cooled, switch the breaker off for a minute, then on, and call us.
No. It means a surface may still be too hot to touch, or a control was left on. That is normal after cooking and goes away once the cooktop cools down.
Until the surface has cooled enough to touch safely. Large pots hold heat longer than small ones, so give it time before you wipe the glass.
If the cooktop is cool and the light stays on, call us. We test the sensor and controls, quote in writing and warrant the repair for 30 days.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
