On JennAir built-in wall ovens, including the double JJW9830DDP and JJW8530DDS, F3 E1 means there may be a problem with the Lower Oven Temperature Sensor, the control, or the wiring. The sensor tells the control how hot the lower cavity is. When that reading is missing or out of range, the lower oven can stop heating, and the display shows the code.
1. Cancel the lower oven and let it cool with the door slightly open. 2. Switch off the oven breaker for one minute and restore it. 3. Try a short bake in the lower oven at 350°F. 4. If F3 E1 returns, use only the upper oven if it works and call us. Do not bend or touch the sensor inside the cavity.
It names the lower oven temperature sensor, so on a double wall oven the lower cavity is the one affected. The upper oven may still bake normally.
The code appears because the control cannot trust the lower sensor reading. Many ovens simply stop heating the cavity rather than guess, so food does not cook at all.
Yes. We quote the price in writing first, and the work carries our 30-day workmanship warranty. If the sensor turns out to be fine, we check the control and wiring before changing parts.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
