F9Q1 on JennAir over-the-range microwave hoods such as the JMV9196CS and the JMV8000 series says the oven could not execute the function, and the user interface, meaning the touch pad, or its wiring may have a problem. Owners see F9Q1 and the touch pad may be unresponsive, may press itself, or may show odd characters. Pressing keys may do nothing, or the panel may seem to act on its own.
1. Clean the touch pad with a barely damp soft cloth and dry it fully. 2. Press Stop/Cancel and wait a minute. 3. Power-cycle the unit at the breaker. 4. Test with a single key press. 5. If F9Q1 stays, do not press harder and call us.
Every start command passes through it. When the control cannot read it, the function cannot run, which is why F9Q1 includes the words could not execute.
Over time, moisture and grease can seep in and cause misreads. Keep the front wiped and use the hood fan to reduce steam. We can check the pad when you call.
They both involve the user interface. F9Q1 adds that the oven could not carry out a function. The testing is similar, and we confirm the right part by measurement.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
