For JennAir over-the-range microwave hoods like the JMV9196CS, FC E3 reports that the appliance could not connect to the router. A time-out, a weak signal, a failed router, the Wi-Fi Module in the microwave, or its wiring may be behind it. The code shows on the display, and remote features may stop responding while ordinary cooking continues. Heating and timers still work.
1. Turn off the breaker for one minute, then back on. 2. Leave the microwave alone for a minute and see if the code shows again. 3. Restart your router and check other devices. 4. If FC E3 returns, call us rather than repeating the reset.
Wi-Fi strength varies through the day. A busy network or a router that restarts can cause time-outs that come and go. Try again later in the day.
Not for FC E3. Registration problems have their own codes, FC E8 and FCE8. FC E3 is only about the connection, so re-registering will not help unless your router has been replaced.
Usually a single visit. We give a written price first and cover the work for 30 days. Replacing a module is simple once we have confirmed that the cause is inside the microwave.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
