JennAir Wall Oven Code 1c4c: control or wiring trouble

What 1c4c means

With 1c4c, JennAir built-in wall ovens like the JJW2427DS and JJW8530DDS tell you the oven control or the wiring connected to it may have a problem. This code belongs to the control board family rather than to the door or a sensor. The display shows 1c4c and the oven may not start a bake or broil. Microwave combination ovens list the same code.

My oven turns on but never heats and shows 1c4c. Why?

The control may be powered yet unable to switch the elements because of the problem it reports. The display lights, but the heating command never completes.

Is it worth resetting more than once?

One reset is fine. Repeated resets do not fix a control problem and keep stressing the board, so after one repeat we would stop and book a visit.

Does a firm 1c4c mean the control must be replaced?

Not always. The wiring is part of the official meaning, so we check connectors and harness first, then recommend a board only if it tests bad.
