JennAir built-in wall ovens like the JJW2830DS and JJW2830LL display F3 E2 when there may be a problem with the Oven Temperature Sensor, the control, or the associated wiring. The sensor feeds the control the cavity temperature so it knows when to heat and when to stop. Owners see the code, and the oven may not preheat or hold temperature. On some JennAir ranges the same code also covers a warming drawer sensor. A preheat may never finish.
1. Press Cancel and let the oven cool completely. 2. Turn the oven breaker off for a minute, then back on. 3. Run a short preheat to 350°F and watch for the code. 4. If F3 E2 shows again, stop baking and call us. Never reach into the cavity to move the sensor or pull on its lead.
It is a small probe in the cavity whose resistance changes with heat. The control reads that value to manage the elements. If the signal is missing or implausible, F3 E2 appears.
Do not rely on it. If the control cannot read the sensor, it cannot regulate temperature properly. Turn the oven off and have it checked.
On certain JennAir ranges, F3 E2 also names a warming drawer sensor. On wall ovens, treat it as the oven cavity sensor. Either way, we need your model number to know which sensor applies.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
