Induction Cooktop Help for the JennAir JIC4536X

The JIC4536X is an earlier 36-inch induction cooktop, with several cooking zones, a ceramic glass surface and touch controls. It was replaced in the line by the JIC4536KS. Most were installed flush in a counter beside a wall oven, with a hood above the run.
On an induction cooktop of this age, the glass is rarely the weak point. The wear sits underneath: cooling fans clog with dust, connections loosen from heat cycles, and a zone that used to find the pan quickly starts to hesitate. A no-pan message can still come from the pan itself, so we check the cookware before opening the cabinet.
Our order is cookware, controls, cooling air, then the zone module. We quote the price in writing before beginning, and each repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty. Please keep the space under the cooktop clear of stored items.
Test the pan with a magnet and try another zone. If a good magnetic pan still fails, a sensor or module is suspect. We read the display message and quote the part before ordering.
Yes, if the pan is magnetic and flat. The cooktop does not care when the pan was made, so a pan that sticks to a magnet should work. If it still does not, the cooktop is the issue.
A cooling fan runs on for a while to clear heat from the electronics. If it never stops, a sensor or the control board may be to blame. We check the fan and the temperature sensor and explain the cause.
