JennAir JEC0536ADS Radiant Cooktop with Touch Controls, 36-Inch

The JEC0536ADS is a 36-inch electric radiant cooktop with electronic touch controls. A cutout this wide usually holds a run of burners across an island or beside a wall oven, with the control strip along the front edge of the glass.
Radiant elements sit under the glass and rely on a small sensor that stops them from running too hot. When that sensor or the element wears, a burner heats slowly, turns off before the pan is ready, or stays dark. The touch controls can fail a different way: a damp cloth or boiled-over liquid on the glass makes them ignore your finger until the surface is dry.
We clear the surface, test the controls, and then check the element. A written price comes before work starts, and our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Moisture or cleaner film on the glass often blocks the touch sensing. Dry the pad and try again. If it still fails, we test the control board and quote it in writing.
A radiant element can cycle off early when its temperature limiter wears out or the connection is weak. We test the limiter and the element and replace only the failing one.
Flat-bottomed pans work best, since they make full contact with the glass. Warped or rough pans heat unevenly and can scratch the top, so check the base of each pan.
