JennAir JIC4724H (24-Inch) Flex Induction Cooktop Repair

Flex induction zones are the main feature of the JIC4724H, a 24-inch Lustre cooktop in black with stainless trim, also sold as the JIC4724HB and JIC4724HS. The flexible zone lets you use larger or odd-shaped cookware, and it belongs to the Oblivion / Lustre family.
Flex zones put more weight on the coils and sensors that decide where the pan is. When heating is patchy, we test the coils in the zone, then the sensing, then the power module. We also look at airflow and the fan, because compact cabinets hold heat.
A written price comes first on every job, and we cover the work with a 30-day workmanship warranty. Before we leave, we run each part of the flex zone once more so you can see it heating normally. Heat is easiest to judge with the pan you actually use, so keep it handy for the visit.
It could be a pan with a warped base, or one coil or sensor in the zone may be failing. We test with flat magnetic cookware and then check the coils.
Heat protection may be limiting output. A blocked fan or limited airflow below the cooktop can trigger it. We check ventilation and the fan. Cleaning dust from the fan is often part of the fix.
The flex design is meant to handle it, but pans must be flat and magnetic. Pans that are very thin or uneven may heat poorly, so test with a flat one first.
