On JennAir built-in refrigerators, including bottom-freezer, side-by-side and French-door built-ins such as the JB36NXFXLW or JCB2285KEF, a blinking "Call for Service" light means the unit wants attention. The first step is to reset the power to the refrigerator. If the light returns after the reset, the unit has detected a condition it cannot clear by itself and needs a technician's check.
1. Note whether the light is blinking or steady and whether the cooling still feels cold. 2. Turn the refrigerator's power off at the control or breaker, wait one minute, and turn it back on. 3. Close the doors and leave them shut for a few hours so the temperature can settle. 4. If the light blinks again, keep the doors closed as much as you can and schedule service.
Check the temperature with a thermometer first. If the compartments are still cold, food is fine for now. If they feel warm, move perishables to a cooler and book a visit.
It restarts the control so it can clear a temporary alert. If the light was caused by a passing glitch, it stays off. If it returns, the cause is still there.
Call the same day if it returns and the compartments are warming. Otherwise within a day or two is reasonable. We give a written price first and back our work with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
