E:05 on a JennAir flush-mount dishwasher for European-size cabinets, such as the JDB9600AW, signals an internal power module problem with the water switch. The triac that drives the water switch motor is defective, so the water switch runs continuously. The program ends with a drain. The listed repair is a replacement power module. Expect a stopped wash, water pumped out and the code on screen, with the load unfinished and still dirty.
1. Drop the circuit breaker for a minute and then restore the power. 2. Open the door and check that the tub is empty or draining. 3. Run a short program to see if E:05 repeats. 4. If it does, leave it and call us. Do not try to reach the control area or the switch motor.
It directs water between wash zones inside the machine. A motor moves it, and a triac on the power module tells the motor when to run. In E:05 that triac is stuck on.
The machine detects the switch running without control and ends the program. It drains the water as a safe step, so dishes are left unfinished.
A power reset is safe to try once. Because the cause is a defective triac, a lasting fix needs a new power module, which we replace after quoting the price in writing.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
