On JennAir TriFecta dishwashers such as the JDTSS246GL or JDPSG244PS, F2E1 means the console reads a button as pressed all the time, which is a stuck key or a console error. The control stops accepting normal commands. You may see the dishwasher beep, refuse to start, or show F2E1. A power cycle is the first step to try. It is not a water or drain problem.
1. Wipe the control panel with a dry soft cloth and make sure nothing is resting on the buttons. 2. Open and close the door. 3. Pause the power at the breaker for a minute, then bring it back. 4. Try to start a short cycle. If F2E1 returns, call us rather than pressing buttons repeatedly.
It can be. A bit of residue or a bulge under the panel can keep a key active. Wipe it and try again. If nothing is visible, the console may have developed a defect.
The control reads the stuck key as a constant command, so it ignores or blocks normal presses. Cycling the power resets that reading for a moment.
The door latch works as usual, but the machine may not start. We diagnose the console, quote in writing, and offer a 30-day warranty on the repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
