On JennAir dishwashers of the current platform, such as the JDTSS246GL and JDPSG244PS, F3E2 points to the thermistor or the OWI sensor. These sensors tell the control about water temperature and how dirty the water is. Without a good reading, cycles can stop or run poorly. The first suggested step is to cycle power. It is not a clog or a leak, and the filter and hoses are rarely the cause.
1. Open the door, clean the filter under running water and refit it firmly. 2. Cut power at the breaker for a minute, then restore it. 3. Run a short cycle with an empty tub. 4. If F3E2 comes back, call us. Do not take the sensor out or probe the sump.
It is the sensor that measures how clear the wash water is. The control uses it to decide how long to wash and rinse. If it fails, the machine cannot judge a load.
The code can stop a cycle. If it does run, results may be inconsistent. We recommend a visit if F3E2 returns after a power cycle.
Debris near the sensor can confuse its reading, so a clean filter is the one safe step you can take. If the code stays, the sensor itself needs a test.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
