On JennAir dishwashers of the current platform, such as the JDTSS246GL or JDB9200CWX, F6E3 means the sensing system found too many suds in the tub. Foam can keep the dishwasher from filling or running properly. The usual cause is the wrong kind of detergent, such as dish soap or laundry detergent. The fix is to remove the suds and run a clean wash.
1. Open the door and look at the bottom of the tub for foam. 2. Scoop out as much foam as you can with a cup and wipe it up with a towel. 3. Pour a cup of white vinegar or just run a rinse. 4. Run a short cycle with no detergent. 5. Use only dishwasher detergent from now on, and a measured amount.
Please do not. Hand dish soap makes far more foam than dishwasher detergent and is a common reason for F6E3. Use only detergent made for dishwashers.
Remove as much as you can by hand, then run empty rinse cycles until the tub is clear. Repeat if foam returns, and wipe the door gasket.
If F6E3 shows again after you have cleared the suds and used the right detergent, the sensing system needs a check. We quote in writing and give a 30-day warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
