On JennAir dishwashers such as the JDTSS246GL or JDPSG244PS, a flashing Sanitize light means the dishwasher did not reach the temperature needed to sanitize. Your dishes were not sanitized. It is a message about the cycle result, not a breakdown. The water temperature should be at least 120 F (49 C), and an interrupted cycle can also cause it. Nothing is broken.
1. Run the hot tap nearest the dishwasher for about 30 seconds and check that the water gets hot, at least 120 F (49 C). 2. Raise the water heater setting if needed, within safe limits. 3. Do not open the door during the cycle. 4. Rerun the sanitize cycle. If the light keeps flashing, call us.
They were washed, but they were not sanitized. If sanitizing matters for that load, rerun the cycle once the water coming from the tap is hot enough, at least 120 F.
The water reaching the dishwasher should be at least 120 F (49 C). Running the hot tap nearest the machine for about 30 seconds before you start helps the first fill arrive hot.
Yes. Opening the door mid-cycle can break the sanitize step. Let the cycle finish. If the light still flashes, call us and we will check the heater.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
