What 1d11 means

On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JES1750FS or JGRP430WP, code 1d11 means the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the wiring between them may have a problem. The control cannot trust the oven temperature reading, so it stops the cooking cycle and shows the code. The oven may be cold, or it may stop mid-bake.

Common causes of 1d11

  • The oven temperature sensor is reading incorrectly or not at all
  • The oven control is misreading the sensor signal
  • Wiring to the sensor is loose or damaged
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Let the oven cool completely with the door closed. 2. Press Cancel. 3. Turn the range off at the breaker for a minute, then on. 4. Try a short Bake at 350 degrees. 5. If 1d11 returns, stop baking and call us. Do not reach into the oven to move parts, because the sensor is easy to bend.

! Why to stop there
  • The sensor is inside the oven cavity, and a bent probe or loose wire is easy to damage further.
  • A sensor and a control can look the same from outside, so testing is needed.
  • Baking with a bad temperature reading risks burnt food and unsafe temperatures.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

1d111d11 questions
Is the oven unsafe with 1d11 showing?

The control normally stops heating when it loses the temperature reading. That is the safe response. We still advise a repair, since an oven with no reliable temperature should not be used.

Should I replace the sensor myself?

We suggest not. The meaning also lists the control and wiring, so a new sensor alone may not clear the code. Our technician tests all three and quotes first.

Why does 1d11 come and go?

A loose connection or a sensor drifting out of range can show up only when the oven is hot. Intermittent codes still point to a real cause that needs checking.
