On JennAir induction cooktops like the JIC4536KS, E_A is another overheating shutdown. The control panel has switched off because of excessively high temperatures, since the internal temperature of the electronic parts is too high. Wait for the cooktop to cool before using it again. You will notice that the zones stop and the display shows E_A until it has cooled.
1. Turn all zones off. 2. Remove any hot pans from the glass. 3. Give the cooktop time to cool before touching the controls. 4. Make sure vents and the cabinet below are clear. 5. Restart at a medium level. If E_A returns when cold, call us.
They carry the same instruction: wait for the cooktop to cool. The letters help identify the internal reading that triggered the shutdown. Wait before cooking again.
The shutdown is protection. Repeated overheating, though, is hard on electronics, so give the cooktop room to breathe and clear its vents. Remove pans first and clear the vents.
Call us if E_A returns after a full cool-down. We inspect the cooktop and give a written price before any work begins. Do not pour water on it.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
