What F0E1 means

On JennAir induction cooktops such as the JIC4536KS, F0E1 points first to the cookware. Only pots and pans made from ferromagnetic material work: enameled steel, cast iron, or stainless steel designed for induction. A magnet can show whether a pan is suitable. The quality and structure of the pan base also change cooking performance, and a poor match shows F0E1.

Common causes of F0E1

  • Cookware that is not ferromagnetic
  • A pan base that is warped or uneven
  • A pan too small or off-center on the zone
  • A cooktop sensor that misreads suitable cookware
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn the zone off. 2. Hold a magnet to the pan bottom. If it does not stick firmly, use a different pan. 3. Choose cast iron, enameled steel or induction-rated stainless. 4. Center the pan on the zone. 5. Try again. If F0E1 shows with a suitable pan, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Most of the time this is a pan question, so a repair visit would cost you for nothing.
  • Aluminum, copper or glass pans will not heat on induction no matter what is replaced.
  • Only a pan-verified F0E1 should lead to a technician.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F0E1F0E1 questions
Which pans work with F0E1 cleared?

Enameled steel, cast iron and stainless steel designed for induction. If a magnet clings firmly to the pan base, the pan is likely suitable. Magnet pans are a good sign.

Can pan quality really matter?

Yes. The structure of the base can change how well the zone heats. A thin or warped base may heat poorly or bring on the message.

What if my pan passes the magnet test?

Then try centering it, or a different suitable pan. If F0E1 stays on, call us. We inspect the cooktop and quote in writing first. Avoid aluminum or glass.
