On JennAir electric radiant and touch-control cooktops, a flashing indicator or display can mean different things. On a smoothtop cooktop it means one or more keys are being pressed continuously. Make sure the controls are off, remove objects from the control area, and wipe debris off the panel. On an induction cooktop, check that the saucepan is suitable and its diameter is large enough.
1. Turn all controls off. 2. Remove anything resting on the control area. 3. Clean the touch panel thoroughly with a soft damp cloth and dry it. 4. On induction, check that a magnet sticks to the pan base and that the pan fits the zone. 5. Try again. If the flashing continues, call us.
The control may think a key is held down. Spills, a towel or a pot lid on the panel can cause this. Clean and dry the area.
One that a magnet clings to. The pan must also be large enough for the zone. Plain glass, copper or aluminum cookware on its own will not work on induction.
If the display keeps flashing with a clean, dry panel and suitable cookware, call us. You get the price in writing first and a 30-day warranty on the work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
