On JennAir combination wall ovens with a microwave, F4 E7 means the microwave meat probe may not be seated properly, or there may be a problem with the probe, its receptacle or the wiring. The microwave and the oven use different probes with different resistance values, so mixing them up can set this code. The display shows F4 E7. You may see it as soon as you plug a probe in.
1. Remove the probe and check it is the one made for the microwave. 2. Wipe the receptacle and the plug dry. 3. Insert the probe firmly until it seats. 4. Press Cancel and start again. 5. If F4 E7 will not stay cleared, contact us for a diagnosis of the meat probe.
No. The two probes have different resistance values, and the microwave will show an error if the wrong one is plugged in. The microwave and oven probes use different resistance values, so the right one must be used.
It mainly affects probe-based cooking. Timed cooking may still be possible, though the code should be cleared first. Probe cooking is the main thing affected, and timed cooking may remain available.
If the right probe is firmly seated and dry and the code stays, the probe, receptacle or wiring needs testing. We quote in writing first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
