JennAir built-in wall ovens, including the JJW2427DS and JJW8530DDS, display F8 E3 when there may be a problem with the oven cooling fan or the associated wiring. This is the second fan alert in the series. You will see F8 E3 on the display, and the oven may refuse to heat or may shut off partway through cooking. The oven may shut off during a cycle with food half done.
1. Press Cancel and let the oven rest. 2. Check that the front and top vents are clear. 3. Flip the breaker off for one full minute, then back on, which clears a stuck fan circuit signal. 4. Run a brief bake and listen for the fan. 5. If F8 E3 comes back, stop using the oven and call us about the fan circuit.
JennAir gives both the same meaning, a cooling fan or wiring problem. The numbers help us learn which check the control made. Both codes name the cooling fan and its wiring, differing only in the final digit.
The control stops heating when it cannot confirm the fan, which prevents that. That is why the code appears. A hot cabinet is the very thing the control is trying to prevent with this shutoff.
Give us the code, your model number and whether you hear the fan. We quote in writing before we start and warrant our work for 30 days.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
