On JennAir built-in microwaves and microwave drawers, plus the microwave cavity of combination wall ovens like the JMC2430LL, F3 E3 points to the oven meat probe, the meat probe receptacle, or the wiring. The unit senses that the probe circuit is not behaving as expected during a probe cycle. You will see the code, and the cycle may pause until you correct it.
1. Pull the probe out and wipe the plug and the socket area with a dry cloth. 2. Push the probe back in fully, as far as it will go. 3. Cancel the cycle and restart it. 4. If F3 E3 remains, cook without the probe and call us. Never force the plug or use a damaged probe in a hot cavity.
Not necessarily. It names the probe, its receptacle, or the wiring, so often a bad probe is all it takes. The oven can usually still cook without the probe.
If the code clears with another correct probe, the first one was the problem. If it stays, the receptacle or wiring needs attention. A cleaned socket that holds the plug firmly is also a good sign.
We test the probe, the receptacle contacts, and the circuit to the control, then give you a written price before replacing anything. If only the probe has failed, we say so and you buy just the probe.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
