On JennAir built-in microwave drawers and combination wall ovens with a microwave cavity, such as the JMC2430DS, Sabbath, Sab, 5Ab, or 5A6 on the display means Sabbath Mode is turned on. In this mode the oven stays in a Bake setting until turned off, and no other cooking or cleaning cycle will run. No tones sound, and the display does not show temperature changes. It is a feature, not a defect.
1. Cancel Sabbath Mode through the oven's settings or control prompts. 2. Turn the oven off, wait a moment, and then try a normal bake. 3. Check that the display now shows temperature changes and that tones return. 4. If the mode will not turn off, call us.
Sabbath Mode limits the unit to Bake until it is turned off. Other cooking and cleaning cycles are disabled while the mode is active. The mode lasts until you cancel it.
No tones sound in Sabbath Mode, and the display does not show temperature changes. This is normal while the mode is on. Everything returns once you cancel Sabbath Mode.
Only when it appears by itself or will not cancel. Then a keypad or control concern is possible, and we can check it. Please do not open the unit.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
