What Flashing 0:00 means

On JennAir countertop and built-in-trim countertop microwaves such as the JMC1116AS, a flashing 0:00 means there has been a power failure. It also appears whenever the product is plugged in, or when power returns after an outage. It is not an error. Reset the clock, and the display goes back to normal. The microwave itself should work again as soon as the time has been set.

Common causes of Flashing 0:00

  • Power failure or brief outage
  • Microwave just plugged in
  • Power cord unplugged and plugged back in
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Make sure the microwave is on standby. 2. Press the Timer/Clock button for three seconds to enter the clock setting. 3. Use the plus and minus buttons to set the time. 4. Confirm with the same button. If 0:00 keeps coming back, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Frequent resets point to an outlet or cord problem.
  • Do not open the case to look.
  • We can check the plug and cord safely.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Flashing 0:00Flashing 0:00 questions
Why is my display flashing 0:00?

The microwave lost power or was just plugged in, so the clock restarted. Set the time and it stops flashing. No tools are needed for this.

How long should the time stay set?

It should stay set until the next power loss. If it keeps resetting, the outlet or cord may be loose. Check that the plug is seated well.

Is this covered under repair?

It is a normal message. If it repeats, we can inspect the outlet, cord, and control and quote any work in writing. Please do not open the case.
