JennAir JDTSS246GL Smart Dishwasher in the RISE Line

JennAir dishwasher

Most common issues on this model

  1. Waterlock alerts, sometimes false alarms from condensation
  2. ClearScan sensor misreading soil level
  3. Filter in the tub floor choked with residue
  4. TriFecta spray arm or pump wearing

The JDTSS246GL is a RISE-line smart dishwasher, 24 inches wide and fully integrated, with 14 place settings and 7 cycles. It is rated at 38 dBA, so a problem is often heard before it is seen.

Two features generate most service calls. The ClearScan sensor tunes the cycle to how dirty the water is, so a dirty sensor lengthens or shortens cycles oddly. Waterlock watches the base for water and will stop the machine, even when the only moisture is condensation. Cleaning the sensor and the filter solves a surprising share of these calls, so we do that before ordering parts. If the alert still returns, we move on to the pump and the base wiring.

We test the sensor, inspect the base and hoses, and clean the filter before replacing parts. A written price comes first, and we warrant our work for 30 days.

JDTSS246GLJDTSS246GL questions
My dishwasher stopped and shows a leak alert but nothing is wet. Why?

Condensation in the base can trip Waterlock. We dry the base, check the hoses, seals and pump for real leaks and then test a full cycle to make sure the alert does not return.

What does the ClearScan sensor do?

It reads how dirty the wash water is and adjusts the cycle to match. A fouled or failing sensor leads to cycles that run too long or end too early. We test its readings during a live cycle.

Why is the dishwasher quieter on some cycles?

Cycles differ in pump speed and spray activity, so some sound softer. If it becomes noticeably louder than before, we check the pump, the spray arms and any loose item in the tub.
