The JennAir flush-mount dishwasher for European cabinets, for example the JDB9600AW, shows E:04 when the power module reports a problem and the machine runs without its heater. The listed causes are a ground leak at the zeolite heater or a failed safety relay for the heater. Dishes come out wet or cool-washed. Early units may also have logged E:04 once during the first eight wash cycles without any real defect.
1. If the machine is brand new and E:04 appeared once, run a few more normal programs and see whether it returns. 2. Power the unit down at the breaker, wait sixty seconds, and bring it back on. 3. Check the water supply tap is fully open. 4. If E:04 shows again after several programs, leave the heater alone and call us. Do not open the lower panel yourself.
Not always. Early units are noted as possibly storing E:04 once during the first eight wash cycles with no real problem. If it never repeats, the machine is fine. If it repeats, call us.
The program runs without heat, so results are poor and drying is weak. Because a ground leak is one of the listed causes, we do not recommend running it repeatedly until it has been checked.
We check the heater circuit and the safety relay, tell you which one has failed, and give you a written price first. Work is covered by our 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
