On the JennAir flush-mount dishwasher for European cabinets, for example the JDB9600AW, E:21 is a circulation pump message. The heat pump is blocked, and the program ends early. The thing to look for is a foreign object stuck in the pump area, and the pump is replaced if clearing it does not help. You will find dishes only partly washed and a display reading E:21.
1. Give the machine a one-minute power rest at the breaker panel. 2. Open the door and lift out the lower rack. 3. Take out the filter and clean it under running water. 4. Look in the sump area for broken glass or small objects you can remove by hand, with care. 5. Replace the filter and run a rinse program. If E:21 returns, call us.
Typical finds are shards of glass, fruit pits, bones, toothpicks and paper labels. Anything small enough to pass the filter can lodge in the pump and stop it from turning.
Sometimes. If the blockage was just debris in the filter, yes. But if the pump itself is jammed, the code stays until we clear it or replace the pump.
Usually one visit. We clear the pump, test it, tell you whether it needs replacing, and give you a written price before starting. The work has a 30-day warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
