On JennAir dishwashers such as the JDTSS246GL and JDAF3924RX, F6E1 is reported as a user interface error involving the main control. The console and the main board are not agreeing. The machine may stop, beep or ignore buttons. Cycle the power first; if the code remains, the official advice is to call for service. It is not a plumbing issue and no water checks apply.
1. Wipe the panel dry and make sure no water is on it. 2. Open and close the door. 3. Flip the breaker off, count to sixty, then flip it back. 4. Try a short cycle. If F6E1 stays, stop and call us. Do not remove the control panel.
It names the user interface and the main control together, so either may have failed. Testing tells which. We replace only the one that needs it.
A power cycle clears a brief glitch in many cases and costs nothing, so try it once. If F6E1 comes back right away, the console or main control has a real problem and needs a technician.
