On JennAir over-the-range microwave hoods such as the JMV9196CS, a flashing colon or PF in the display means there has been a power failure or the clock time has been turned off. When power first reaches the microwave, a colon blinks. It is a status message rather than a defect. Touch Cancel/Off, or Cancel, depending on the model, to stop the blinking.
1. Touch Cancel/Off or Cancel to stop the blinking. 2. Reset the clock to the correct time. 3. If you had a power outage, wait for power to return before running a cycle. 4. If the colon blinks again without any outage, call us.
Not usually. It means power was lost or the clock is off. Touch Cancel and set the time, and the display returns to normal. It needs no repair.
It indicates a power failure. The microwave lost power briefly and is asking you to reset the clock. Touch Cancel and set the time again.
If it happens repeatedly with no outage, something in the power supply or control may be intermittent. We can then check the cord, the connection, and the control without guessing.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
