On JennAir built-in wall ovens such as the JJW2830DS and JJW2427DS, the code 1c1c says the user interface, meaning the keypad and display, or the wiring to it may have a problem. The control cannot trust what the touch keys are sending. You will see 1c1c on the screen, and buttons may respond slowly, press themselves, or stop working. The same code is also listed for combination ovens that include a microwave.
1. Wipe the panel with a dry soft cloth and keep your hands dry. 2. Press Cancel and wait one minute. 3. Turn the oven breaker off for two minutes, then on again. 4. Try setting the clock. If 1c1c returns, stop using the oven and call us.
Moisture can confuse touch keys, so a dry wipe is worth a try. The official meaning still names the interface or wiring, so a code that keeps coming back needs a technician.
We would not trust it. A keypad that sends wrong signals might start or stop a cycle without your input. Leave it off until the panel behaves normally.
The meaning listed for both is the same, a keypad or wiring problem. The different digits are how the control tells its own checks apart, and we test the interface for either one.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
