On JennAir built-in wall ovens, such as the JJW2830LL and JJW2427DS, the code 1c31 means there may be a problem with the oven control or the wiring connected to it. The control is the board that runs the heating and the cycle logic. You will see 1c31 on the display, and the oven may stop heating or refuse to start.
1. Tap Cancel and give the oven a full minute to settle. 2. Turn the oven's breaker off for two minutes and then restore power. 3. Watch that the display lights up and the clock can be set. 4. If 1c31 shows again, do not keep resetting the oven. Call us.
It switches the heating elements, reads the temperature sensors and manages the door and fan. When it reports its own problem, the oven may stop cooking to stay safe.
Occasionally a power reset clears it. If the same code shows within a day or two, the control or its wiring still has a problem and should be tested.
The same control design is used in combination models, so the code carries over. The check, testing the control and wiring, is the same on both.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
