JennAir wall ovens such as the JJW9830DDP and JJW8530DDS show 9d22 when there may be a problem with the oven door latch assembly, the door switch, or the wiring. The message belongs to the 9d series of door checks. You will see 9d22 on the display, and the oven may not heat. A door that closes normally can still produce this message.
1. Stop cooking and let the cooling fan finish its run. 2. Press the door closed and look for a gap at the edges. 3. Cut power at the breaker for two minutes, then restore it. 4. If 9d22 appears again, switch the oven off and call us.
A misaligned door may not press the switch properly. We check hinges and alignment along with the latch and switch. A bent hinge is a separate repair that we quote on its own.
Not reliably. All three look the same to the control. A technician measures the switch and latch to see which one fails. Our meter readings on each part take only a few minutes during the visit.
The oven refuses to heat when it cannot confirm the door, which is the safe response. Do not try to force it. Wait for the technician instead of prying at the latch.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
