On JennAir built-in wall ovens like the JJW2427DS and JJW8530DDS, an F04 code means there may be a problem with the electronic oven control, or the associated wiring. The control runs the keypad, the display and every heating function. When it reports this, the oven often stops cooking until the cause is found, and the display holds the code. Expect a locked-up or blank display.
1. Press Cancel once and wait a few seconds. 2. Cut power at the breaker for about a minute to let the control board reading reset, then restore it. 3. Restore power and see if the clock and keypad respond. 4. If the oven runs, keep a close watch on the first short cycle. 5. Keep the oven off and ring us about the control board if F04 returns.
The control or its wiring. JennAir groups both under the same code, so a technician has to inspect the connections and measure the control outputs to know which one failed.
Age of the board or a poor connection can both be behind it. We do not guess, we test and then tell you what we found.
Many are done in one visit if the part is available, and we confirm the price in writing first. Our repairs come with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
