A lone F2 on a JennAir built-in wall oven such as the JJW2830DS or JJW8530DDS flags a possible problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the associated wiring. The control checks the sensor signal constantly while heating. When it falls outside the expected range, the oven shows F2 and usually stops heating to protect the cabinet. Often the oven stops mid-cycle with food only partly cooked.
1. Press Cancel to see if the oven recovers. 2. Leave the door open for a while so the cavity cools. 3. Shut off the circuit breaker for a minute, then reconnect power and see if the sensor circuit check passes. 4. Try a short bake at 350 degrees. 5. Keep the oven off and ring us about the sensor circuit if F2 returns.
Press Cancel, let the oven cool and cycle the breaker once. If the sensor circuit was only briefly off, the code may clear. Letting the oven cool before the breaker reset avoids confusing a hot reading with a failure.
Without a trusted temperature signal, the control will not risk heating. This protects the oven, your food and nearby cabinets. A sensor that reads wrongly can also make the oven hold the wrong temperature during baking.
